Hello all!
I recently purchased my second mini, a '90 Cooper RSP and as of yet I haven't managed to get a decent MPG out of it. It's been averaging around 28mpg on the 1,200 + miles I've done since november. I've tried a little tinkering myself with the carb but I'm not exactly a professional. My '92 Mayfair averaged 49mpg even on some of the harder runs of last year and over 6,000 annual miles covered. I understand I'm comparing a 1 litre to a over-bored 1275cc (1310cc) but surely the difference shouldn't be that great...
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone could recommend a rolling road near-enough to us? Closest seems to be macdonald-racing over in Lanchester, seen a few decent reports online for them but obviously I'd rather go to someone someone trusts.
Or on the otherhand, is anyone in the club particularly good at running a good old fashioned tune up without having to get the whole engine out and checked over? I'm talking dizzy caps, points and valve clearances. If anyone fancies a couple of hours under my bonnet taking a look over it, let me know.
If anyone can help, either reply on here or send me an email to drminimole@aol.com.
Thanks in advance guys.
Craig
